To those of you in the PA House’s 97th District who have supported me since the beginning and those I have come to know only in these last few weeks, please make sure to get out and vote on Tuesday November 6.
Dans’s 3rd Forum on Critical Issues Facing Pennsylvania Forum was a success on Tuesday night. Three speakers: PA Auditor General Eugene DePasquale, Dr. Rob Spicer, and Barry Kauffman alerted us to the obstacles that lie in the path of achieving good government in Pennsylvania. And we had a positive discussion about what we might do to get around those obstacles.
I want to thank Jim Sandoe of the Citizens Climate Lobby, Malinda Clatterbuck of Lancaster Against Pipelines, and Jeremy Seitz-Brown of the Sunrise Movement for speaking with voters in the 97th PA House District about the environmental challenges that our state faces at last night’s Forum on the Environment. I walked away with a clearer view both of the challenges we face and what we need to do to meet them.
I am happy to announce that I have been endorsed by the Sunrise Movement, an organization that seeks to ensure that our elected officials are ready to act on behalf of the environment -- our environment. Too few of our leaders in Pennsylvania take the threat of climate change seriously. Too many of them would rather take money from the big fossil fuel companies and play dumb about the reality of climate change.
I have pledged not to take money from the fossil fuel companies, I will push to protect our land, air, and water in Pennsylvania, and I will get Pennsylvania into the fight against climate change by turning more of our attention to renewable sources of energy.
